Filters

Water purification - Water purification is the removal of contaminants from untreated water to produce drinking water that is pure enough for its intended use, most commonly human consumption. Substances that are removed during the process of drinking water treatment include suspended solids, bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi, minerals such as iron, manganese and sulphur, and man-made chemical pollutants including fertilisers.

It is important to take measures to make available water of desirable quality at the consumer end. That leads to protection of the treated water during conveyance and distribution after treatment. With the supply and installation of the correct size of filter and correct type of media clean drinking water is easily achievable with the minimum of maintenance required.
Each filter that we install is custom built in our workshop to specifically suit the type of water and the particular chemicals that are in the water. This can only be done with an up to date water test. For further information on getting your water tested, contact us to arrange a water test with a fully accredited laboratory.
We supply and service filters to solve the following problems that occur in water supplies.

  1. Iron and Manganese removal. This is the removal of trace mineral elements in water such as iron and manganese with the use of the correct media for the type of water that we are trying to treat.
  2. Water softeners. This is where there is “hardness” in water which can lead to “scale build up” in appliances such as kettles, washing machines etc. Hard water also reduces soap's ability to lather, whether in the shower, sink, dishwasher or washing machine, and reacts with soap to form a sticky scum
  3. pH correction. This is where the pH of the water is low (below 6.5 ) and is considered to be acidic.  Acidic water results in corrosion of soft metals such as copper in pipework, heating cylinders and equipment.
  4. UV filters. This is the use of UV filters to kill bacteria that may exist in the water.
  5. RO filters. Reverse osmosis, also known as hyperfiltration, is the finest filtration available today. It is the most common treatment technology used by premium bottled water companies. It is effective in eliminating or substantially reducing a very wide array of contaminants, a simple under-sink unit is all that is required to provide you with perfect drinking water.
